A state auditor’s investigation accuses Joseph S. Nohra Jr., 49, of Topper Hill Drive, Hubbard, of bugging a school district office in 2018. Nohra is named in direct indictments on six counts of interception of wire, oral or electronic communications, and five counts of interfering with civil rights. The first charges are fourth-degree felonies and the second batch are first-degree misdemeanors. Nohra resigned in June 2020 as Liberty superintendent. According to assistant county Prosecutor Charles Morrow, the charges stem from an investigation from an incident occurring over two weeks in April 2018. Killer Jacob LaRosa never faced the death penalty in his brutal slaying of his kind-hearted, elderly neighbor, but at least his family could take solace in knowing LaRosa’s conviction and sentencing meant he would never, ever again be free. That is, until legislators recently passed a new retroactive law requiring that all juvenile offenders someday get a chance at parole. The grandson of LaRosa’s victim, 94-year-old Marie Belcastro, is right to be enraged by what he calls a “miscarriage of justice.” Senate Bill 256 took effect earlier this month decreeing that just about anybody in prison for life who committed murder as a juvenile must be given a chance at parole.

Weathersfield man guilty in rampage | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 28, 2021 WARREN – A Weathersfield Township man has pleaded guilty to four misdemeanors connected to a March 31 rampage where police reports state he was high on acid. Robert J. Wade, 23, of 608 Sugar Pines Drive SW, appeared before Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay today to plead guilty to a bill of information charging him with resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and menacing. A bill of information is a process whereby someone is charged with a felony criminal offenses without going before a grand jury. McKay, who will sentence Wade after he undergoes a background investigation with the probation department, also reduced the defendantás bond from $200,000 to a personal recognizance bond.
