The cabinet-level position oversees the non-instructional functions that support the school district, such as capital programs, facilities services, operational planning, school nutrition, and transportation. Mr. Maloof is an exceptional addition to our Fulton County Schools leadership team, said Superintendent Mike Looney. In addition to relevant regional, district-level experience with operations, he brings a depth of school-based leadership experience as a former principal, assistant principal, and teacher.

DUNWOODY, Ga. â Itâs not often one sees robots and fencing sabers in the same space, but thanks to the generosity of Regency Centers, that is whatâs happening in the Dunwoody Hall Shopping Center.
Many lesser-celebrated activities at the high school level were victims of COVID-19 restrictions, including Dunwoody High Schoolâs 20-member fencing club, which has not been sanctioned as a Georgia High School Association sport.
âSince the GHSA doesnât sanction fencing, itâs not recognized as a sport in DeKalb County,â said David Kopel, whose son, Jonathan, captains the club. âClub sports were not given a place to practice or compete (within the DeKalb County School System).â
Madeleine Douglass, a 10
th grader at Dunwoody High School, said the event had special meaning for her.
âWhen I was younger, there was not a lot of support that I knew of, so I thought I was just alone facing all the prejudice against Asian-Americans,â she said. âHaving this community come together really lifts my spirits.â
The vigil, which included a candle lighting and several speakers, was organized by Long X. Tran, and it drew a crowd of about 40 people, including Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch.
