So, he picked up his camera. “After seven months of reinventing ourselves, pivoting, opening up a patio, closing down a patio, opening up a few seats in the restaurant, closing down a few seats in the restaurant, we were all really exhausted,” he says in a phone interview. Prior to opening the game restaurant on Dundas West in Little Portugal six years ago with chef Michael Hunter, Shapiro was a documentary filmmaker and photographer who’s credits include Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno web films.
