A 39-year-old Santa Rosa driver has been arrested for DUI and evading police. Early Thursday morning, a Santa Rosa Police officer was in the area of Dutton Avenue north of the Joe Rodota Trail when he observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of a lane of traffic. He noticed the vehicle commit more traffic violations before attempting a traffic stop at Sebastopol Road and West Avenue. The driver refused to stop. Officers used a spike strip which deflated one of the vehicle’s tires but the driver continued driving through the parking lot of the Coddingtown Mall and surrounding restaurants, then onto Steele Lane. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a light pole on the corner of Lewis Road and Franklin Avenue. The driver, identified as Juan Manuel Garcia Zaragoza, fled the vehicle but was detained a short distance away.

Georgia Lee Moses would have turned 36 years old this week. She might have gone to college. Raised a family. Had a successful career. But she never got the chance.
In August 1997, Georgia’s short life ended when she was just 12 years old. Her younger sister, Angel Turner, was only seven years old at the time, but her memories are still fresh and vivid.
“She practically raised me,” Angel told Dateline. “She took care of me, she cooked for me, she loved me. She embodied what a mom was, and she did it effortlessly.”
