UN announces support to digital solutions to accelerate economic recovery of women enterprises
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund with partners FMO, Visa and the Government of Canada are pleased to announce the winners of the Women Enterprise Recovery Fund. The 10 winners, which include technology providers, FinTechs and commercial banks, will receive financial and technical support over the next 12 months to pilot and test their innovations. The solutions developed by the 10 winners will support women entrepreneurs to access and use digital solutions and finance technologies which support business recovery and growth.

ATI (www.ATI-ACA.org), through RLSF, has supported the 60 MW Salima Solar PV plant in Malawi; this is the second project in the country to benefit from RLSF; the first project being Phase 1 of the Nkhotakota Solar Power Plant, with an initial installed capacity of 21 MW; with project construction almost finalized, Salima Solar will be the first solar PV in Malawi to connect to the grid.
The African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI), under its Regional Liquidity Support Facility (RLSF), has supported the Salima Solar PV plant, by providing a revolving liquidity guarantee that can be drawn following any payment delays by the national offtaker – Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited (ESCOM). This is the second project in the country to benefit from RLSF, the first project being Phase 1 of the Nkhotakota Solar Power Plant, with an initial installed capacity of 21 MW.
