Emmy Squared will bring its Detroit-style pizzas to two more locations in the D.C. area.
One opens in D.C.’s Navy Yard in early June, another in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, later this summer.
Emmy Squared’s first restaurant opened in Brooklyn in 2016. It opened its first D.C. outpost in Shaw last year.
It now has locations across New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia and Louisville, Kentucky, in addition to the D.C.-area locations.
Emmy Squared’s Alexandria location will replace the former Pizzeria Paradiso at 124 King St. in Old Town that closed last fall. The Navy Yard location is at 1300 4th St. SE, on the ground floor of The Bower condominium building.

Two vintage yachts start private tours on the Potomac River this month, and the owners have partnered with Chef Bin Lu, formerly of Bourbon Steak, Cityzen and Pineapple & Pearls, to develop the onboard menus.
Vintage Yacht Charters books private charters starting at $2,000 for four-hour cruises. Both depart from either D.C.’s Navy Yard or the Wharf District, and can utilize other Potomac River waterfronts as well.
(Updated at 11:05 a.m.) A new boozy barbershop is under construction in Ballston, setting up a coming battle between a growing national chain and a homegrown, expanding local shop.
Scissors & Scotch is currently under construction on the 4000 block of Fairfax Drive, about halfway between the Ballston and Virginia Square Metro stations.
The shop, on the ground floor of the recently-constructed J Sol apartment tower, will offer customers haircuts, straight razor shaves, and hair removal services, in addition to alcoholic drinks, as the name suggests. The Kansas City-founded chain has an existing location in D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, and another planned at Union Market.
