The man who died in a great white shark attack has been remembered as a truly special soul who is home now in the ocean in heartbreaking tribute shared by his daughter. Mark Sanguinetti, 59, from Sydney s Northern Beaches, was fatally mauled by a 4.5m great white shark off Tuncurry Beach near Forster on the NSW mid-north coast on Tuesday morning. We all knew him as a legend with a heart as vast and deep as the ocean, which was the first of his many loves, one of his daughters penned in a handwritten tribute, which also invited surfers to a ceremonial paddle out to remember Mr Sanguinetti.

Fatal Shark Attack on Surfer at Tuncurry, NSW Tragedy on the Mid-North Coast Surfline Link copied to clipboard A surfer in his 50s has died after being bitten by a shark at Tuncurry on the NSW mid-north coast. The attack occurred around 11:15 am today. Despite a massive emergency response, including several ambulances and a helicopter from Sydney, the surfer died at around 12:40pm. The Department of Primary Industries, which runs fisheries and shark management, says it has not yet identified the shark species involved and is still gathering information about the attack.
