Updated Fire in Douglas Flat area
Update at 12 p.m.: CAL Fire dispatch reports that the steep and rocky terrain is making it difficult for firefighters to get a hose line around the blaze burning in the Douglas Flat area of Calaveras County. The acreage remains between 4 and 5 acres with no structures threatened. The flames broke out in the brush along Camp Nine Road above some water tanks near Ponderosa Way, off Parrotts Ferry Road.
Camp Nine Road at Parrotts Ferry Road and the Camp Nine Bypass remain closed.

Updated Guns, meth and money seized
Angels Camp, CA – A pound of meth, guns and nearly $2,000 in cash led to the arrest of a Douglas Flat man.
A Subaru crossing over double yellow lines and narrowly missing a pedestrian while traveling southbound on South Main Street/Highway 49 In Angels Camp early Thursday morning resulted in calls to police dispatch. Officers immediately began looking for the vehicle and one spotted it in a parking lot of a business in the 2800 block of Hwy 49 in Angels Camp.
Behind the wheel was 38-year-old James St Louis. Officers discovered one pound of methamphetamine, $1700 in cash, and two firearms that he had concealed on his person and hidden in the vehicle.

Update at 3:15 p.m.: The CHP reports that the wreckage from a crash that shut down Highway 4 in the Douglas Flat area of Calaveras County has been cleared. Two pickups collided near the Holiday Mine Road intersection blocking both lanes of the highway. Officers were directing traffic around the site for about an hour as tow crews worked to remove the wreckage and debris from the roadway. Luckily, the CHP reports no injuries in the crash.
