TILLER, Ore. A wildfire that broke out near Tiller on Tuesday afternoon is now largely contained, with fire officials saying that growth was halted at 220 acres,
The Marshall s Place Fire was first reported on Tuesday afternoon about four miles north of Tiller.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association said that firefighters have continued to make good progress on the fire, raising containment to 80 percent. It has not grown since early Wednesday morning, when crews finished lining the perimeter.

TILLER, Ore. Fire crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association are responding to a natural cover fire burning about four miles north of Tiller in Douglas County on Tuesday, the agency says.
The Marshall s Place Fire was last estimated at 100 acres in size. DFPA said that no homes are currently threatened, and the fire s cause remains under investigation.
Fire officials have requested more resources to help with suppression efforts. Crews are currently on the scene, actively engaged with the fire.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – Fire crews in Douglas County made good progress overnight on a 200-acre fire about four miles north of Tiller.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association said firefighters responded to the Marshall’s Place Fire just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Nine engine crews, three water tenders, two bulldozers, and three 20-person hand crews worked on suppression effort overnight.
Favorable weather conditions helped them make good progress toward containing the fire
DFPA said 110 firefighters are assigned to the Marshall’s Place Fire Wednesday.
Containment lines have been successfully made around the fire.

Crews extinguish fire near Hardscrabble Road
The Hardscrabble Road Fire went on to burn approximately three acres of grass, brush and Scotch Broom before crews contained the blaze.

DRAIN, Ore. Crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association and North Douglas County Fire and EMS extinguished a natural cover fire Friday evening that was located about two miles northwest of Drain, near Hardscrabble Road.
Firefighters arrived to the scene around 6:40 p.m. and reported that the fire was about one and a half acres in size and slowly backing down the hillside. Crews remained at the scene until 9:30 p.m., securing the perimeter of the fire.
