Female coaches are suddenly expanding their presence in the uppermost ranks of men’s professional sports, especially across baseball, basketball, and football. During the past 18 months alone, at least 30 women were working as full-time coaches in MLB, NBA, and NFL organizations.  While women still occupy only a fraction of such positions, their nascent movement into coaching represents what some believe could be the beginning of a second gender revolution in sports almost 50 years after the passage of Title IX. The new coaches are inspiring a generation of young female athletes, bringing greater diversity to dugouts and weight rooms, and may usher in new ways of motivating pro athletes – and even winning.

Warriors' Draymond Green: Women Athletes Need to Take Action on Pay Inequality

Jeff Chiu/Associated Press Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green elaborated on his thoughts on how female athletes can address the sizable pay gap between themselves and their male counterparts.  Speaking with reporters Wednesday, Green said women are not laying out steps that they can take to change that, per NBC Sports Monte Poole: It s coming off as a complaint, because the people who can change it are just going to continue to say: Well, the revenue isn t there. Despite steady stream of protesters, Senate panel OKs union dues bill

Amid a coronavirus-disrupted session that separates lawmakers from the public, schoolteachers on Wednesday made up labor unions’ biggest show of force this year. About 100 showed up in red jackets, shirts, blouses and ties to show solidarity against a measure educators say singles them out for bureaucratic harassment because they belong to a labor union. The Senate Government Oversight Committee, on a party line vote, OK’d the bill (SB 1014) that would require labor organizations to demonstrate every year that they have at least 50% of a bargaining unit’s workforce as dues-paying members. Below that, they would have to seek recertification with the state’s Public Employees Relation Commission to represent teachers in negotiations for wages, benefits, and other workplace procedures.
