CORNING - AIM Independent Living Center recently received $1 million for a supportive housing facility in the City of Corning that will help homeless young adults ages 18-25, as well as young people transitioning from foster care.
One participant said the housing assistance but more importantly, the support it offered changed his life. It got everything back in order for me, said Doug Montgomery, who was a beneficiary of a similar program, targeted at adults, in the Town of Southport. At that point, I was losing everything and didn t know where to go. I met these people here at AIM, and they said everything was going to be alright that they were going to help me out; and they did. They got me back on my feet. Everything is looking up. It was a big lift in life for me.
