TORONTO A woman is facing charges after she allegedly sexually assaulted a child in a Toronto park two months ago and police believe there may be other victims. According to police, a six-year-old boy attended the Walter Saunders Park, near Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West, on May 20. At that time, the boy was sexually assaulted, police said. An investigation was launched by the Toronto Police Service’s Child & Youth Advocacy Centre. As a result of their investigation, 33-year-old Toronto resident Ruby Eby was arrested on June 8, police said. She is charged with sexual interference with a person under the age of 16 and sexual assault. Eby is set to appear in a Toronto courtroom on July 21.

Three men were taken to the hospital after being electrocuted at a worksite near Dufferin Street and St. Clair Avenue West Monday evening.
Police said they were called to the Robina Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West area for a report of an industrial accident.
Toronto Paramedic Services said they were called to the scene at around 6 p.m.
The paramedic service said a 46-year-old man was originally in critical condition at the scene, but he was stabilized by paramedics and taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Dr. Joel Kirsh, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central East Office, made the announcement by way of a news release issued by the Ministry of the Solicitor General. The inquest will examine the December 13, 2017 death of 25-year-old Ali Zaraeeneh, who the province says died following injuries sustained from an interaction with York Regional Police. In an email to CTV News Toronto, the Office of the Chief Coroner confirmed that officers with York Regional Police shot and killed Zaraeeneh after he allegedly stormed an RBC bank branch, located near Major Mackenzie Drive West and Dufferin Street in Vaughan, and took 13 people, including staff and customers, hostage.

An inquest has been called into the shooting death of a man during a hostage situation at a bank in Vaughan in the winter of 2017.
Dr. Joel Kirsh, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central East Office, said in a statement Friday the inquest will look into the circumstances surrounding the death of 25-year-old Ali Zaraeeneh, who was fatally shot by York Regional Police on December 13, 2017.
“The inquest is expected to last five days and will hear from approximately 10 witnesses,” said Dr. Kirsh. “The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.”
