Joe Burrow took Wednesday afternoon off, but his run game didn t as running back Joe Mixon continues to put last season s foot injury behind him. He looked fast and big while the Bengals continue to install the wide zone that is new offensive line coach Frank Pollack s baby.
It will be recalled that this is the scheme Mixon ran to the AFC rushing title in 2018 on 4.9 yards per carry and he clearly runs like he s got confidence in it.

After their first day off of training camp, the Cincinnati Bengals returned to the practice field for one more session before the pads come on.
Good news hit the wire in the morning as rookie defensive end Cameron Sample was activated off the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. Drue Chrisman and Larry Ogunjobi remain on the PUP, but there’s hope for Ogunjobi to return shortly.
Unfortunately, other minor injuries began to pop up Monday afternoon, which is where we’ll start our practice recap from Day of Bengals training camp.
