LOUIS The Illinois Senate Redistricting Committee Southwestern Illinois Subcommittee is planning a hearing on redistricting at 5 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis. The hearing will be hosted by state Sens. Rachelle Crowe, D-Glen Carbon; Doris Turner, D-Springfield; and Christopher Belt, D-Centreville. The Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus is holding regional hearings to gather public input as lawmakers begin the once-a-decade process of drawing new legislative boundaries. Members of the public may request to provide testimony, submit electronic testimony or submit electronic witness slips via the General Assembly website in advance of the hearing or through email at redistrictingcommittee@senatedem.ilga.gov.
