Nancy Boockholdt Plylar, age 76, of Oneonta, AL passed away on May 12, 2021.
Nancy was born in Birmingham, AL, where she grew up and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964. After briefly attending The University of Alabama, she left to marry and to start a family.
Over the next decade and more she went back to school while raising a family, eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree at Montclair State and her Masters degree at UAB as a professional counselor. She was a caring person who wanted to help others. Through her work as a counselor she worked as a director at Shelby County Domestic Violence Woman’s Shelter, The Salvation Army and then retired after working at St. Clair Correctional Facility. Her desire to help her others came through in her personal life as well.

The number of candidates hoping to be the next sheriff of Pulaski County has grown to three.
Detective Lieutenant Bobby Jones of the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office announced this week that he s running for the office, joining retired Kentucky State Police Post 11 Commander Todd Dalton and PCSO Captain Troy McLin.
Sheriff Greg Speck s decision not to run for a third term opened the door for Jones to attempt his first political campaign. The lieutenant added that he d been approached by several people encouraging him to run for the office, which like other county and city posts, will be decided by voters next year.

Walter Hundley, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, with his family by his side.
He was the husband of June C. (Ling) Hundley. Born in Moulmein, Burma (Myanmar) son of Gordon Hundley and Daw Shwe.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and two daughters; Richard Hundley and his wife Debra of Cumberland, RI, Catherine Fabrizi of Warwick, RI, and Janet Prusa and her husband Cary of Manhattan, NY; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Countless cousins, nephews, and nieces. The youngest of 6 siblings Walter was a proud father, grandfather and delighted in the successes of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
