JOHOR BARU: The Jalan Impian Emas 17 cluster involving a surau here has recorded three deaths so far, says Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman R. Vidyananthan.
He said the first case in the cluster was detected through a screening on April 21 with investigations showing that the index case patient frequently broke fast and performed tarawih at the surau.
“We immediately carried out contact screening involving family members, colleagues and even the surau congregation.
“Up to Sunday (May 2), a total of 252 individuals have been screened with 52 of them testing positive. Three deaths have also been reported, ” he said on Tuesday (May 4).

JOHOR BARU, May 4 The Johor government disclosed today that public hospitals in the state have exceeded the capacity of their intensive care units (ICUs) to treat critical Covid-19 cases.
Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said based on yesterday’s statistics, a total of 49 Covid-19 patients were being treated at six specialist hospitals’ ICU units in the state.

JOHOR BARU, Feb 2 A total of 56 people, including 22 infants, at the Baitus Solehah shelter home for single-mothers in Skudai here have tested positive for Covid-19.
Those found positive have since been sent to three hospitals for further treatment.
Baitus Solehah manager Muna Liza Ismail said the infected include 22 mothers with their babies.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 The number of evacuees in Sabah has increased this morning, with no change in Johor, while the situation in Pahang and Sarawak continues to improve, with a drop in the number of flood victims recorded.
In Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Tuaran and Papar are the latest districts hit by floods this morning.
According to the Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, as at 8am today, the number of evacuees has increased to 176 people compared with 122 reported last night who were housed at seven relief centres (PPS) statewide.
