It s Friday and there s a heavily hyped video game presentation filled with announcements and reveals on the way in just a bit. That probably means the Shacknews staff should get their reactions from the last heavily hyped video game presentation filled with announcements and reveals out of the way. With that said, we re here to react to the latest Nintendo Direct with excitement, sarcasm, and everything in-between.
We re also sending our best wishes to Guides Editor Josh Hawkins, who is among those affected by the ongoing emergency in Texas. We hope to have him back soon and, in the meantime, hope he and his loved ones remain safe.
While the establishment of wineries in Martinborough decades ago heralded the first wave of visitors, people were now being pulled in by the allure of a country lifestyle. South Wairarapa Mayor Alex Beijen says his district needs more than just an ATM to serve its residents. Conor Kershaw owns the Four Square supermarket and Mitre 10 hardware store and said many of his 70-odd staff faced an uphill battle finding housing.
It seems llike a week can t go by anymore (and certainly not a month) without us hearing about a video game franchise being adapted to a Netflix series. What started with just Castlevania and The Witcher has grown to a list including such entries as Dragon s Dogma, My Friend Pedro, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil, and most recently even Sonic the Hedgehog and Tomb Raider. If it s a cool gaming franchise, it seems there could be a Netflix series about it. With that in mind, each of the Shack Staff shared the gaming franchise they d like to see get the Netflix series adaptation treatment.

With that in mind, it seems only natural to keep things rolling with a discussion of what we expect to see in the industry during the year. What are the trends? What surprise game will be announced?
Question: What is your gaming prediction for 2021?

It’s the capstone to a saga that has gripped a nation. A mural based on the drawing of Cookie Monster, which appeared briefly on the side of a commercial building in Peoria, Illinois, last month, has become a sensation an internet-famous symbol of misunderstood public art and the value of a good prank.
