NRL 2021: Cronulla Sharks v New Zealand Warriors, round 17 preview

Team news Sharks: Will Chambers is out of Cronulla s side to face the Warriors on Sunday as he needs to quarantine after a trip to Victoria for the birth of his third child. Cronulla coach Josh Hannay on Friday said Connor Tracey was likely to switch to centre with Braydon Trindall coming into the starting side at five-eighth. Five-eighth Matt Moylan remains sidelined by a calf injury after missing the Brisbane loss on Sunday. The Sharks have won seven of their past eight games against the Warriors. Warriors: Reece Walsh (hamstring) and Matt Lodge headline a raft of changes with the rookie No.1 again pushing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to the wing and the Broncos recruit relegating Kane Evans to the interchange.

NRL Live Scores 2021: Brisbane Broncos vs Cronulla Sharks start time, results, news for Round 16

08:07 The South Sydney Rabbitohs have notched their fourth-straight win following a dominant 38-22 performance over the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval. The Rabbitohs today blitzed the Tigers at home with a big opening 40 minutes, which saw the men from Redfern cross over for five unanswered tries to lead by 26 points at the main break. While the Tigers late in the match cut the deficit to 16 points, it was virtually all one-sided as the Rabbitohs barely broke a sweat to comfortably cruise to victory and jump into the third spot on the NRL ladder. South Sydney owned possession today with 55 per cent, in what rugby league immortal Andrew Johns described as training gallop during Nine s coverage of the match.

NRL 2021: Cronulla Sharks, Josh Dugan, Josh Hannay, coach frustrated over biosecurity breach

Cronulla interim coach Josh Hannay has vented his frustration with former representative star Josh Dugan over the COVID-19 biosecurity breach that has left him unavailable for selection and facing a $25,000 fine. Dugan has been forced to undergo 14 days isolation after attending a restaurant in Potts Point last weekend when NRL players were under strict instructions to remain at home unless training, playing or conducting essential household requirements. Sharks welfare manager Amanda King has been in daily contact with Dugan this week but Hannay revealed leading into Sunday’s match against Brisbane that he had not heard from the veteran centre or attempted to speak with him.
