Why are the NRL bending over backwards to accommodate the Dragons?

Why are the NRL bending over backwards to accommodate the Dragons? A Set the default text size A Set large text size Replay A Set the default text size A Set large text size This afternoon the Dragons will name their side to play Manly on Friday, with a distinct possibility they will field a near full-strength team. At this stage, it appears they will only be unable to play Zac Lomax and Daniel Alvaro, with the former having missed the club’s last game anyway, against the Warriors. Since that golden-point victory over the Kiwi club, the Red V have been turned upside down due to the sheer stupidity of 13 of their players.

NRL 2021: State of Origin, Telstra Tracker, Mitch Moses fourth fastest player

Based on his maximum speed in the 2021 Telstra Premiership, debutant Blues halfback Mitchell Moses will be the fourth-fastest player in State of Origin III. With a PB of 36.1km/h, Moses can lay claim to being quicker on this season s Telstra Tracker than all of his NSW teammates except winger Josh Addo-Carr (38.1km), the fastest man in the game. Moses has outpaced Tom Trbojevic (35.9km/h), Brian To o (34.7km/h) and James Tedesco (33.4km/h) and found a higher gear than Queensland s Dane Gagai (35.7km/h) and Kalyn Ponga (34.4km/h). Of course, Moses might not win a normal footrace if all those players took part - and some of them probably haven t sprinted at their absolute peak in 2021 - but the playmaker undeniably has wheels.

NRL 2021: Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Matt Dufty, fullback signs one-year deal

Roster renovations are in full swing at both the Dragons and Bulldogs with Matt Dufty joining a rapidly changing Canterbury backline next season as Brayden Williame and Will Hopoate size up moves to Europe. Dufty will take up a one-year deal with Canterbury in 2022 that gives him a chance to keep his NRL career alive after a protracted saga around his future. Off-contract Bulldogs centre Hopoate too had been in talks about an early move to the Dragons, to the point a player-swap had been discussed by the two clubs recently. However talks have dropped off with Hopoate understood to be close to taking up a two-year offer from Super League outfit St Helens.
