Grendel: Devil’s Odyssey #5 – It’s been about a year since the last issue, but it’s all good, as I’m just happy to return to Grendel Prime’s mission, looking for a suitable planet to restart the human race. The latest candidate is a massive, planet-sized city that appears to have been fully automated, where the mechanisms that kept the city running are still working, even though all life has been extinguished. Matt Wagner has a real Twilight Zone vibe working for him here, as he takes a couple of issues to explore a science fiction concept. I like this series, and will forever think of Grendel Prime as my favourite Grendel. He’s also the coolest looking.

As I write this, on April 16, it is snowing. Iâm a New Englander, I still remember the April Foolâs storm, and I generally roll my eyes at Weather Drama. We ll go ahead and say that no one is going to miss 2020 and all of its chaos. This year has put the world through the ringer, and we re looking forward to putting the past 12 months behind us. The Good Lord Bird star Joshua Caleb Johnson is set to recur opposite Adrienne Warren and Cedric Joe in ABC’s limited series Women of the Movement, from creator-writer Marissa Jo Cerar and a producing team that includes Jay-Z, Will Smith and Aaron Kaplan.
Johnson plays Wheeler Parker Jr., Emmett Till’s beloved best friend and cousin who went on vacation with him to Mississippi in 1955, a vacation that would change both of their lives forever.
The six-episode limited series is set in 1955. It centers on Mamie Till-Mobley (Warren), who risks her life to find justice after her son Emmett (Joe) is brutally murdered in the Jim Crow South. Unwilling to let Emmett’s murder disappear from the headlines, Mamie chooses to bear her pain on the world stage, emerging as an activist for justice and igniting the Civil Rights movement as we know it today.
