CLEVELAND (AP) Austin Meadows hit a pair of two-run homers, Ji-Man Choi had three RBIs and the Tampa Bay Rays beat Cleveland 8-2 on Saturday night, extending their winning streak over the Indians to 11 games.
The Rays moved into a first-place tie with Boston in the AL East. They have not lost to the Indians since May 24, 2019. The franchise’s longest winning streak against an opponent is 12 against Baltimore in 2008.

The Tampa Bay Rays (60-39) defeated the Cleveland Indians (48-48) 8-2 on Saturday night in Cleveland. The win gives the Rays five straight wins and they tie the Red Sox for first place in the American League East.
The Rays got contributions from all over the offense. Austin Meadows led the way with two home runs, Ji-Main Choi went 4-for-5 with three extra base hits, and Joey Wendle went 4-for-5 as well.
Louis Head (1-0, 2.08) picked up the win out of the bullpen, pitching two innings in which he allowed one unearned run while striking out four. He relieved Drew Rasmussen, who pitched three innings in which he allowed only one earned run.

Patrick Sandoval pitched 8 1/3 no-hit innings and Shohei Ohtani had two doubles and scored a run to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night in Minneapolis.
Sandoval, who entered the contest with a 3-13 career mark, kept the Twins off-balance with achangeup while registering a career-high 13 strikeouts. Brent Rooker lined a first-pitch slider down the right field line to break up the no-hitter in the ninth and then came around to score one out later when Josh Donaldson lined a double to left off reliever Raisel Iglesias.
