Goddard Enterprises helps with relief efforts
Article by May 18, 2021
Evacuees in shelters and private homes, Police, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), the hospital, and relief organisations in St. Vincent are just some of the groups to have benefitted from a diverse set of goods and products from the Goddard Enterprises Ltd (GEL) family of companies following the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano there.
The team at Coreas Hazell – a subsidiary of GEL in St Vincent, led by CEO Joel Providence coordinated the massive relief effort with many of the other subsidiaries and the head office in Barbados, as they responded to the immediate needs of those affected

Two pick-up trucks have been gifted to the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) and the SVG Police Force to bolster ongoing volcano relief efforts in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The brand new vehicles were donated by local company, Coreas Hazells Inc at a short ceremony on Saturday, May 8, where CEO, Joel Providence handed over the keys to Michelle Forbes, director of NEMO and Commissioner of Police, Colin John.
“We have been making donations since I can say, two or three days after the eruption on the 9 April to both the government and the people,” Providence said as he stood in front of the Coreas Hazells headquarters on Saturday morning with other officials.

EDITOR: On the back page of last week’s Searchlight newspaper, there is an article which headlines a quote from my colleague of longstanding– Leo Anderson. The article which captions the words, “ Brace for steep prices, consumers warned”, speaks in particular to the steep rise in building material prices worldwide. Leo’s comments are not an exaggeration in any way but, is in fact, a statement of today’s reality. Yet, I am optimistic that there will be a greater balance of economic forces before year’s end – and we all have a role to play in achieving this.
