Like the first game when Stanford dominated inside, the Cardinal did it again. On Thursday Stanford shot 61% and had a 40-22 advantage on points in the paint. Sunday night the Cardinal shot 58% with a 44-22 advantage inside.
The Golden Bears, who count heavily on their outside shooting, were just 8 of 24 behind the arc, a two basket improvement from the first meeting.
Stanford led by as many as 19 points in just its second game at Maples Pavilion but could never quite put Cal away. The Golden Bears went 16 of 19 from the foul line, Stanford was just 18 of 30.
Stanford had a 13-2 run over the final four minutes of the first half to lead 35-24 at the break. Kisunas had consecutive baskets and Taitz hit a 3-pointer before coming up with a loose ball and knocking down from the top of the key as time ran out.

SPOKANE, Wash.– It’s really not easy to avoid COVID-19 outbreaks, even if you have all the right protocols in place.
That’s what the Union Gospel Mission Men’s Shelter has realized, as more than 70 people have been infected by the virus.
UGM thought it was doing everything right, but as we’ve seen so often throughout this pandemic, an asymptomatic case likely brought the virus into the shelter.
“Honestly, we, throughout the entire shelter system, were surprised we went so long without having any outbreaks,” UGM Director of Ministries Joel Brown said.
In a matter of just one month, the virus infected more than 70 people.
RALEIGH (WTVD) A Raleigh woman s terrifying encounter of coming face to face with two men who broke in to her home is now prompting a bigger conversation about what happened to Shanay Porter and how police treated the men they found inside her apartment. When I put my key in the door, it was open, Porter said describing the moment Tuesday morning when she arrived home at her Brier Creek apartment. She said walked into a nightmare.
Two men she did not know were lounging in her living room, eating her food, and wearing her ex-boyfriend s clothes. She says one of them even took a shower.
