Peacemaker series for DC and HBO Max in Vancouver, James Gunn took to Twitter in order to answer some fan questions, largely about his stewardship of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and how much control he had over the characters outside of his two blockbusting volumes.
Perhaps the most interesting revelation came when he was asked about whether he’d always planned to kill off Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, or if that decision was taken out of his hands for
Avengers: Endgame. Gunn was an Executive Producer on both Avengers: Infinity War and
Endgame, and revealed that he was “consulted before it was set in stone, so it wasn’t completely out of my control” but that he “definitely didn’t always plan on it”.

Warner Bros. has finally revealed the synopsis for director James Gunn s The Suicide Squad.
We finally have a synopsis for
The Suicide Squad. Director James Gunn s upcoming DC Comics adaptation has been kept largely mysterious up to this point. Yes, we ve seen some footage and have met the truly stacked cast. But as far as the plot goes, it has been kept tightly under wraps. Now, Warner Bros. has pulled the curtain back, ever so slightly, revealing the new mission Task Force X is faced with.
The Suicide Squad, which is set to debut later this year in cinemas and on HBO Max. Well, that day might be getting a little bit closer because Warner Bros. have just released an official synopsis for the comic book carnage, which you can read here:
“Welcome to hell a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite pyscho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.”
