The Place of Forsyth, Northside Hospital teaming up to give the gift of prom The Place of Forsyth and Northside Hospital Forsyth are teaming up once again to give at-risk and/or homeless students the gift of prom. Every year in the spring students across the country begin preparations for their senior prom. From shoes, to dresses, to nails, no detail is overlooked. For some however, prom is another reminder of what they do not have. What should be an exciting time of dress shopping or tux fittings is actually an event overlooked due to a lack of finances and in some cases, an adult who cares.

With the sudden expansion from a family of three to one of seven, McBrayer said she had to figure out how to adjust to the added responsibility.

BOC approves Emergency Rental Assistance Program funding

BOC approves Emergency Rental Assistance Program funding At a Forsyth County Board of Commissioners work session on Tuesday, Feb. 23, the board voted to accept the Emergency Rental Assistance Program funding of more than $7 million. Commissioners also voted to approve the program resolution, budget resolution and nonprofit memorandums of understanding with room for modification from County Attorney Ken Jarrard. The items were all approved with a unanimous vote, 5-0. Rebecca Whitmire, director of the county’s finance department, told the board ERAP distributes $25 billion nationwide to help households struggling to pay rent and utility costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Forsyth County is one of the 11 direct recipients in Georgia to participate in the program.
