EUGENE, Ore A Vancouver, Washington man who later moved to Eugene, Oregon is facing more than a year in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender in Oregon.
The U.S. Attorney s Office says Joseph Lugo, 50, was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison and will have years of supervised release. He must also undergo sex offender treatment and mental health counseling.
Court documents show that Lugo had pleaded guilty to child molestation and communicating with a minor in two separate cases in 2017 and 2018. After serving 11 months in prison, he was released in September 2019, requiring him to register as a sex offender.
