(WTVF) — A large fire destroyed an apartment building at Brentwood Oaks Apartments in the Nippers Corner area of Nashville. The 2-alarm fire was so large that it could be seen from Interstate 65. Several crews responded to the scene around 8 p.m. Monday. NFD Spokesman Joseph Pleasant said a total of 18 units were impacted, but it s still unclear exactly how many people were displaced. He said thankfully everyone was accounted for and no injuries were reported.

A Tennessee paramedic is accused of killing his wife and his wife’s father. Rachel Konen, 30, and her 62-year-old father David Rodgers were shot to death in Clarksville in January. (WTVF) — A Nashville paramedic has been accused of shooting and killing his wife and father-in-law in Clarksville. The Clarksville Police Department said Matthew Konen is facing two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Rachel Konen and David Rodgers, who were killed in late January. Konen was arrested this week and has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Clarksville Police Department Matthew Konen Konen has been employed as a paramedic with the Nashville Fire Department since March of 2017. Department spokesman Joseph Pleasant said they are aware of the charges and Konen has been reassigned to an alternative duty that does not involve working with the public or responding to incidents as the investigation is ongoing.
