The family took precautions. They did not hug and kept their face masks on indoors. As an added precaution, they opened the windows and Carol sat by the windows.

US treasury secretary says direct payments may start as early as tonight

Treasury Sec. Steven Mnuchin said direct payments to Americans may begin to be deposited as early as tonight.
These would be the $600 payments included in the Covid-19 relief package President Trump signed on Sunday evening.

Colorado identifies first known case of UK Covid-19 variant in the US

Colorado health officials announced the nation’s first known case of the Covid-19 variant originally discovered in the United Kingdom Tuesday.
The Covid-19 variant B.1.1.7 was identified in a Colorado man in his 20s, with no travel history, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement Tuesday. Polis said the man is in isolation in Elbert County, and will remain in isolation until cleared by health officials.

A couple married for nearly six decades died of COVID-19 a little over a week apart after a family visit.
Mike and Carol Bruno, from Chicago, followed strict precautions for months, only to contract the disease after visiting their son Joseph Bruno and his sister, who works in a salon.
His sister had taken a COVID-19 test, which came back negative and quarantined for three to four days as a precaution.
Soon after the 40-minute visit, Bruno s sister began to display COVID-19-like symptoms, and Joseph and Carol Bruno also became symptomatic shortly after.
Carol Bruno was admitted to the hospital and put on a ventilator around Thanksgiving, with her husband Mike following just two weeks later.

Mike and Carol Bruno did everything right to avoid Covid-19. They refrained from hosting the big, traditional family gatherings they were used to. They stuck to phone calls and video conferences with family even though they didn t live far away.
But a simple family visit to get a haircut claimed both of their lives.
The Brunos were married nearly six decades before they passed away from the virus, their son Joseph Bruno told CNN. The Chicago couple, who died 10 days apart, are now among the more than 337,000 people who have died from coronavirus in the US.
