ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. â A suspect was finally apprehended fleeing in a cornfield after a police pursuit through two states Friday night.
It all began at 7:58 p.m. when the chase began in Elkhart County, Ind., and then crossed the state line into St. Joseph County. The White Pigeon Police Department and Constantine Police Department engaged the vehicle in the area of Riverside Drive and Blue School Road.
First Constantine Police and then later St. Joseph County sheriff s deputies successfully deployed stop sticks, leaving the vehicle driving on two rims.
The vehicle continued eastbound through Centreville and onto M-86 through Nottawa and later onto Lepley Road, where it nearly struck a police car head-on. At that time the fleeing vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch and then a cornfield, where it came to a halt and the driver fled on foot.

SOUTH BEND, In. – Indiana State Police reported on Friday, just after 4 p.m., troopers had located and arrested a man for an active federal warrant and additional new charges after finding a handgun and drugs in his possession.
Troopers with the All Crimes Policing Team reported that Michael Kindley, a 44-year-old of South Bend, was located in the 1200 Block of South 32
nd Street.
While being taken into custody, authorities located a handgun, approximately 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and a stolen moped from Mishawaka, stated the report.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A woman was arrested Monday evening after leading Indiana State Troopers on a chase along U.S. 20.
According to officials, just after 6 p.m. on Feb. 1, an off-duty Indiana State Trooper in an unmarked vehicle notified area troopers of a gray Ford Edge driving recklessly and speeding along U.S. 31 near the Marshall County and St. Joseph County line.
Shortly after, an on-duty trooper located the Ford as it exited U.S. 31 onto the U.S. 20 Bypass heading east.
The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop near U.S. 20 and Elm Road after observing the Ford make a number of traffic violations, reports said.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A South Bend woman was incarcerated for dealing cocaine following a traffic stop where Indiana State troopers found cocaine, marijuana, and more than $7,000, stated the Indiana State Police (ISP).
On Jan. 22, 2021, at around 3:00 p.m., an ISP trooper with the Bremen Post All Crimes Policing team stopped a red Dodge pickup truck for a moving violation on Huron street.
During this stop, the report stated, an ISP K9 conducted a free-air sniff on the Dodge and alerted the trooper to the odor of narcotics.
