COVID-19: New London Hospital cancels Hospital Days for second straight year

NEW LONDON New London Hospital has canceled its annual Hospital Days celebration in August for the second year in a row due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to a post on the hospital’s Facebook page.
In the post, New London CEO Tom Manion cited uncertainty about the rollout of vaccines for everyone, the impact of emerging COVID-19 variants and the unavailability of vaccines for children as reasons for canceling the nearly 100-year-old tradition.
“For 97 years, Hospital Days has been the foundation on which we build our community engagement,” Manion wrote. “However, in good conscience, we cannot move forward with the traditional flagship activities including the Midway, Parade and Triathlon, and other associated events that draw large crowds. It would be a public health risk to do so.”

Lebanon schools are in good hands
I served on the Lebanon School Board for the past three years. I would like to share with the Lebanon community that, from my perspective, the schools are in very good hands with the district administration team that is in place.
I have worked closely with Superintendent Joanne Roberts, Business Administrator Tim Ball, Director of Facilities Dana Arey and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Lisa Scolaro.
