The 30-year-old writer on dropping out of Trinity, leaving Dublin and her debut novel
In the autumn of 2019, the Irish writer Megan Nolan made headlines when it was announced that her novel had been acquired by publisher Jonathan Cape in a two-book deal. The publisher called the book âmasterful and rivetingâ and praised Nolan as having a voice that was âfresh, searching and addictiveâ.
That sort of high praise would not have come as a surprise to anyone who had been following Nolanâs career. Over the last few years, the 30-year-old has emerged as one of the best regarded writers of her generation. Best known for her personal writing, she has written for the likes of the New York Times, New Statesman, the Guardian and the Sunday Times, to name a few.
