Superman title will be replaced by an all-new ongoing series titled
Superman: Son of Kal-El, starring Clark Kent s son Jonathan Kent as the new Superman of Earth. Written by Tom Taylor (

Young Justice), the series will explore what happens when Jon Kent, after years of buildup, is finally entrusted with the duty of protecting Earth in an official capacity as the new Man of Steel.
As readers of recent Superman titles might realize by now, this is something DC s creators on the Superman line have been teasing out for some time. DC Comics described the new Man of Steel in a press release, writing “Jonathan Kent has experienced a lot in his young life. He’s fought evil with Robin (Damian Wayne), traveled across galaxies with his Kryptonian grandfather, and lived in the future with the Legion of Super-Heroes, who were intent on training him for the day his father could no longer be Superman. There is a hole in the Legion’s history that prevents Jon from knowing exactly when that will happen, but all signs point to it being very soon. It’s time for the son to wear the cape of his father and continue the never-ending battle as a symbol of hope for his home planet.”

Superman line of titles, and many fans could be upset by the news.
The Future State event was initially planned as a full-blown reboot of the DC Universe, moving into a future where key characters had been replaced by legacy heroes (similar to The Falcon becoming Captain America and Ironheart taking over from Tony Stark).

In comparison, Narcissa was a “turn,” a Gothic hoot, for all her verve and suffocating evil.
