GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriffâs Office says they have identified a womanâs body found in a marsh in early February.
Deputies say an autopsy conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina Monday has identified the body as Tina Renea Cooper, 44.
The GCSO says Copper was found in a marsh off Sirfield Road on Feb. 10 after being reported missing by her family on Jan. 29.
Pandemic spurs increased visitation to area state parks
No movies. No ballgames. No street festivals.
So where have people gone for a bit of relief from the pandemic and all of its accompanying woes?
Many have turned to the great outdoors, specifically to North Carolina s state parks, including Crowders Mountain in Gaston County and South Mountains in Cleveland and Burke counties.
Some 763,919 people visited Crowders during 2019, an actual decrease from the 791,810 who came in 2019.
But, that number is deceiving, according to Park Ranger Daniel Tenney. You have to remember that we were closed for the better part of six weeks during what would have been one of our busiest times of the year, the early spring, Tenney said.
