Jevon Holland made history when he was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 36th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. As the first safety off the board he became the highest-drafted defensive back to come out of Oregon since
TJ Ward was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 38th pick in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
One of the exciting parts of rookies getting drafted is them donning new colors and jerseys in the NFL. It appears Holland has found his new jersey number after he shared the news on Instagram.
Holland wore No. 8 during his two seasons in Eugene and was one of many players that brought an infectious energy to his team.

After some quiet time following the 2021 NFL draft, the action picks up again this week around the NFL with the release of the regular season schedule followed by rookie minicamps over the weekend.
As is always the case, the regular season schedule unveiling is highly anticipated even though everybody already knows every team s opponent based on the NFL formula. This is just about finding out when those games will take place and, perhaps even more significantly, the number of prime-time games for each team.

Brian Flores Miami Dolphins won 10 games in 2020, just the second time the club has hit double-digit victories in 12 seasons. Even that accomplishment, however, left the Dolphins out of the playoffs.
Flores doesn t want to fall short once again.
Thanks in part to wheeling-and-dealing general manager Chris Grier, the Dolphins added talent to a rising roster, selecting four potential impact players within the first 42 selections during the 2021 NFL Draft receiver Jaylen Waddle, pass rusher Jaelan Phillips, defensive back Jevon Holland and offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg.
The upgrades at receiver and on defense will raise expectations in Miami. After years of rebuilding, it s a roster ready to compete in the AFC.
Dolphins announce free agent and rookie jersey numbers

The Miami Dolphins have announced the jersey numbers for their 2021 NFL Draft rookie class, recent free-agent additions, and incumbents who are switching numbers. The announcement came on Twitter and includes payers like first-round pick Jaylen Waddle, free agent Will Fuller V, and 2020 opt-out returnee Albert Wilson.
The NFL relaxed some of the jersey numbering rules this year, allowing for an expansion of numbers for several positions. The number structures are now:
Quarterbacks/kickers/punters 1-19
Tight ends 1-49, 80-90
Wilson, a wide receiver, will wear number 2 after having previously worn 15 for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Fuller, a wide receiver who signed with the Dolphins in free agency this year, will have number 3 after wearing 15 for his first five years in the league, all with the Houston Texans.
