How to Save Money on a Generator | Houston Press

There are some significant restrictions, and this is a good time to start planning for how best to take advantage of the program. The main one is that generators are capped at $3,000 and they must be portable. If you were hoping to save $1,000 off the price of a top-of-the-line Generac, you’re out of luck. However, there are some very nice generators you can buy in that range that will see you through most blackouts. One of those to look out for is the Honda EU3000is. It’s only technically portable because the wheels are sold separately, but aside from that it is one of the most reliable and sought-after generators on the market. At 3000 watts, it can run everything from the air conditioning to your refrigerator for more than 12 hours, and it has very good fuel efficiency. For big spenders, you can buy more than one with the same tax break and chain them together to ride out any emergency in style. Virtual pedal power success for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance aircrew got sweaty in their flight suits and even full PPE on a virtual bike ride to raise more than £7,000 for lifesaving equipment. Pilots and paramedics from the charity had planned on cycling 654 miles over the space of a week - the equivalent of pedalling to 10 local hospitals twice. In the end, they managed 1,191 miles. Critical care paramedic and ground base manager Richard Miller says: “It’s been a great challenge for everyone in the aircrew to be part of and we’re absolutely delighted with the final outcome. Not only did we smash the target we set for the number of miles we wanted to cycle, the funds raised has also exceeded all expectations and we can’t thank everyone who has donated enough.

Paramedics and aircrew raised over £7,000 to buy equipment for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

AIRCREW for Wiltshire Air Ambulance have successfully completed their virtual cycling challenge to raise funds for vital lifesaving equipment. Pilots and paramedics from the charity planned on cycling 654 miles virtually during a seven-day period, the equivalent of pedalling to ten local hospitals twice. In the end, they cycled almost double that figure, a total of 1,191 miles, by the end of Valentine’s Day – all for the charity they love. The Love Your Air Ambulance Challenge helped to raise more than £7,200 to fund the purchase of a MEQU M Warmer unit and accessories. The equipment can be used in emergencies to ensure injured patients receive the blood products carried by the crew at the required temperature quickly.
