NOTTINGHAM: After being whitewashed in the One-day International series by a third-string England side, Pakistan will be looking to make a fresh start when they take on the hosts in the first Twenty20 International at Trent Bridge on Friday.
Having won just five of 17 completed T20 Internationals against England, Babar Azam’s side will pin their hopes on experienced Mohammad Hafeez to make amends for the ODI series debacle and with Babar currently ranked second-best batter in the T20 International rankings behind England’s Dawid Malan himself rediscovering his form with a brilliant 158 in the final ODI at Edgbaston, Pakistan are desperate to post decent score on the board.

Nottingham, Jul 16 (IANS): England s white-ball skipper Eoin Morgan has indicated that he is prepared to give fringe players opportunities in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan in order to fine-tune the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman later this year.
England recently won the three-match ODI series against the visitors with their second team after the first side had to self-isolate due to seven Covid-19 cases in the squad just before the series. Several second-team players gave commanding performances as England beat Pakistan 3-0.
