21 ALPENA, Mich. Air Mobility Command (AMC) is conducting part of their biennial training exercise Mobility Guardian at Michigan Air National Guard’s Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) May 17-28, 2021. Mobility Guardian 2021 (MG21) is focused on all-domain operations in Contested, Degraded, and Operationally-Limited (CDO) environments against a high-end adversary. Letters to the Editor Sunday, May 9 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists are vulnerable road users. With all the distractions, to say look twice is just not enough. Drivers need to look near, intermediate and far for vulnerable road users. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), there are three types of distracted driving; visual, manual and cognitive. Examples of visual driving distractions are looking for items on the floor of the car, using your GPS, changing the radio station, or doing your makeup. Examples of manual driving distractions are eating/drinking, adjusting your child’s seatbelt, smoking or searching through your purse.

DVIDS - News - Michigan ANG takes on Headquarters Air Force mission to keep deploying Airmen safe from COVID-19

21 ALPENA, Mich. – On Tuesday Dec. 15, the first Airmen arrived at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center from around the country as part of the facility’s support for the Headquarters Air Force-led “Restriction of Movement” (ROM) mission. Alpena CRTC, located in Northern Michigan, was selected earlier this year by the Air Force’s active duty component to serve as an ROM site, which provides a location for Airmen to spend two weeks in a closely controlled environment as a precaution to ensure they do not have COVID-19 before traveling to their overseas assignment. “This is a very impactful mission in terms of supporting the men and women who are about to deploy and fight our nation’s wars,” said Col. James Rossi, Alpena CRTC commander. “When they arrive here, they are healthy; our mission is to ensure they leave healthy and as physically and mentally prepared for their deployment as possible.”
