Grenfell expert witness is father of council safety chief
A Grenfell Tower expert witness has signed a legal agreement not to speak to his son, head of fire safety at Kensington and Chelsea Council, about anything related to the inquiry.
It has emerged that Colin Todd, described by a lawyer representing the council this week as “probably the country’s most well-known expert on fire-risk assessment”, is the father of Keith Todd, the council’s head of fire safety.
After its Easter break, the public inquiry is set to consider evidence regarding the council’s tenant management organisation (TMO) that was responsible for the Grenfell Tower before the fire. It was disbanded in 2017 with the council taking over the running of its housing directly.
