Manager Tony La Russa announced that outfielder Eloy Jimenez will be activated from the injured list and make his 2021 season debut Monday against the Kansas City Royals, according to The Athletic s James Fegan.
Jiménez could DH or LF. Still to be determined. La Russa does not anticipate that he will take at-bats away from Andrew Vaughn. Said Vaughn is swinging as well as anyone and “we’re trying to win games James Fegan (@JRFegan) July 25, 2021
Jimenez missed the first four months of the season after rupturing his pectoral tendon during spring training.
