That happened early Wednesday morning on US-183 and E1760 Road, about three miles south of Manitu. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Ford F-150 was heading north on 183 when it hit and killed 36-year-old James Barrett of Tulsa, who was walking north in the roadway.

36-Year-Old Hit, Killed While Walking On Highway In Tillman County A Tulsa man is dead after a pickup hit him while he was walking in the road in rural Tillman County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 36-year-old James Barrett was walking in the middle of Highway 183 around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday when a pickup hit him from behind. Barrett died at the scene. Schenectady County sheriff fires his son, a sergeant, following arrest on DWI charge | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 A sergeant in the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department, the son of the sheriff, has been fired after being arrested on drunk driving charges in Colonie Monday night, authorities said. Sgt. Daniel Coppola, 26, was arrested  by Colonie police just before 10 p.m. Monday on Central Avenue at the intersection of Reber Street, police said. Witnesses had observed Coppola swerving and town officer pulled him over after he moved from his lane unsafely, Colonie police Lt. James Gerace said. Coppola faces one count each of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content above 0.18%, more than twice the legal limit. He also was issued a traffic ticket for moving from his lane unsafely, police said.
