SOUTHEND was left gridlocked as families flocked to the seaside to bask in the overdue warm weather. Traffic delays stretched for more than a mile from Eastern Esplanade, in Southend, to Western Esplanade with the area heavily congested causing vehicles to move at a snail’s pace. The stop-start traffic was reported from Westcliff to the pier as people travelled to the seafront. The AA warned: Stop-start traffic on Western Esplanade both ways from the Westcliff Beach to the Southend Pier. Holiday traffic. GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL Police say an argument over Snapchat is to blame for a 12-year-old boy stabbing another boy, 12, in the abdomen with a Batman novelty knife in Glendale Heights Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to the 500 block of James Court for a reported fight just after 4 p.m. They found the victim with two stab wounds in his abdomen. The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening.

A 12-year-old Glendale Heights boy is facing aggravated battery charges after authorities say he stabbed another 12-year-old boy in the abdomen.
The boy was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery. On Wednesday, a DuPage County judge ordered that the boy be placed on home detention.
Authorities said Glendale Heights police responded about 4:08 p.m. Tuesday to the report of a fight near the 500 block of James Court. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from two apparent stab wounds to his abdomen.
The victim was taken to a hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
