A Northumberland County man was charged with first degree murder and other charges after a Claysburg man was shot in the neck with a crossbow arrow in Liberty Township over the weekend.
State police said Alec P. Rhoads, 24, of Mount Carmel shot 53-year-old Daren D. Lingenfelter inside a residence on the 100 block of Railroad Avenue about 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
Troopers found Lingenfelter dead with a crossbow bolt in his neck when they arrived at the scene, according to court documents.
Investigators spoke with witness Tammy Baker, who reported she was speaking with Lingenfelter in a bedroom when he was struck by the arrow.
