Milford Police Chief Michael Pighetti accused of exercising ‘unauthorized and unnecessary’ powers, placed on paid leave Updated Feb 09, 2021; Facebook Share The town of Milford’s police chief was placed on paid leave Tuesday as officials investigate claims “he exercised unauthorized and unnecessary police powers” while on the job, authorities said. The Milford Select Board voted at its Tuesday meeting to place Police Chief Michael Pighetti on paid administrative leave pending the completion of the internal investigation into the allegations, according to a statement from Town Administrator Richard A. Villani. Lt. James Falvey will serve as acting police chief for the town while the investigation is being conducted, the statement said.

Updated: 2:21 PM CST February 2, 2021 MINNEAPOLIS The COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the mental health of people from all age groups, but perhaps none have been affected as much as older adults. Dangers posed by contracting the virus have left many seniors isolated and cut off from family, friends and those who care about them.  As the pandemic stretches on, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is trying to throw a lifeline of sorts to those who need connection with a drop-in phone chat line they re calling Coffee Talk. The goal is to pair older adults from across Minnesota with a caring volunteer for friendly conversation, support, and access to resources that might help their well-being.
