Amanda Hopkins, who had earned a bachelor s degree from Princeton University in New Jersey and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University in New York, was weighing business school options several years ago. She was considering either attending a well-known U.S. business school or pursuing an MBA at a top European institution.
Her choice: The Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. The MBA program at the British school is compacted into 12 months. Being out of work for less time was appealing to me, says Hopkins, who adds that a shorter time frame translates to a lower cost of living. The cost factor was definitely persuasive in comparison to American schools.

Blue Jays: Xavier Hernandez (1989)
Hernandez, a right-handed relief pitcher, made his debut with the Blue Jays in 1989 and appeared in seven games, covering 22 2/3 innings that season before the Astros selected him in the Rule 5 Draft. Toronto had drafted Hernandez in the fourth round in 86 and he developed as a starter, but came out of the bullpen for the majority of his 10-year Major League career.
