Jamie Miller, founder of Tŷ Pren. said: “A large portion of the larch that has been felled by NRW and the Forestry Commission - due to Phytopthora Ramorum - is being chipped for biomass, although Ramorum disease does not affect timber quality if the trees are felled quickly enough after infection is detected. “This is a great loss of a valuable resource which could be used to build sustainable, homes that are actually affordable for the local community. “Ben was very interested in the potential that timber-framed buildings have to help Wales meet its target of net zero carbon by 2050.

The Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints put on two fantastic features – a make-up from the Pub 400 Night season opener and the regular night’s feature at Fremont Speedway May 22. Elmore’s Alvin Roepke was in the running to win both races, but after getting nipped in the first, he took the second. In the make-up feature Fremont’s Dustin Stroup took advantage of a little mistake from race-long leader Logan Riehl to grab the lead on lap 18 and held off Roepke on a restart with just three laps to go to earn his third victory of the season and fifth career win.

Gibsonburg High School graduate Stuart Brubaker, who grew up near Helena, admits he got a little complacent while leading the 410 feature at Attica Raceway Park Friday, May 14 for the Eric Phillips 33rd Anniversary Classic. That allowed Chris Andrews to close lap after lap. Late in the race when Andrews showed Brubaker his nose, the track’s 2018 champion got back up on the wheel and Brubaker drove to the victory on American Powersports/The Adkins Group/Smith Paving Night Presented by Integrity Auto and Truck Sales.
