The new guidance published by the BPS provides psychologists and other health professionals with recommendations for providing psychological support to individuals living with Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.
Georgina Carr, chief executive of The Neurological Alliance, called this “incredibly important guidance.”
“At the Neurological Alliance we have long known that too many people with neurological conditions aren’t having their mental health needs adequately served by the existing set of services and support, she said. Not only does this set of recommendations provide invaluable guidance for psychologists and allied professions on how best to work with people with the named conditions, but it also shines a light on the need for further research in this area.”
Jane Simpson, 46, and her husband Mark, 49, of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, bought the property in June 2018 for £190,000 and have spent just £3,000 renovating it.
STAFF and residents at a Chester care home are spreading a little seasonal cheer this month with a festive donation of toys and food parcels to the Ellesmere Port branch of the Salvation Army. After such a difficult year for so many, the team at New Care’s Grosvenor Manor Care Centre, on Hatchmere Drive, is hoping to make a small difference for some of the most needy within its immediate local community with a donation of essential food items and children’s toys to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal. The items have been collected by the staff team and also residents’ families who have purchased products to donate and have been collected by representatives from the Ellesmere Port branch of the Salvation Army who will distribute them to those most in need.
