Daryl V. “Sid” Toothman, 85, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
Sid was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Farmington, WV, son of the late Daryl W. and Phyllis (Atkinson) Toothman.
Sid worked in the Tin Mill Electrical Shop at Weirton Steel and retired with 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Steubenville High School and he loved Big Red Football and was a long-time season ticket holder.
His memberships included the Bell Chapel UMC, the Men’s Club of the Church and the Big Red Boosters. Sid was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, Tenth Div. and he loved spending time at Leesville Lake.

Normally, Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky would have their annual calendar at various retail locations, but with the pandemic, they will be available at these locations only: http://www.sparkyrescue.com or pick one up at Simply Chic Home Accents in Downtown Owensboro. They re also available at the Daviess County Animal Shelter. Donation is $20 for this one of a kind calendar.

January features Whitney Adamson from the Owensboro Police Department and former SparKY pup Jane Ann. Each month will feature a local hero and a pup related to SparKY. All of the proceeds help homeless and at-risk animals in the community. They re a no-kill animal rescue, and a nonprofit organization who depends on these funds.

MOORE, Okla. – Jane Ann (Veneziano) Baltrush, of Moore, Okla., was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Waterbury, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jennie Veneziano, and brother, Santos. Jane is survived by her husband of 51 years, who adored her, Bill Baltrush; two sons, Will Baltrush, and James Baltrush and wife, Darla; a daughter, Lisa Bischoff and husband, Dean; two granddaughters, Carissa Bischoff and Alaina Baltrush; a sister, Diane Ostroski and husband, Joe; several nieces and nephews; and over 100 cousins around the country.
Jane married her high school sweetheart, Bill, in 1969, and they moved to Moore in 1977, where they were active members of St. Andrews Catholic Church. She was a cafeteria worker for Moore Public Schools for 10 years, but she was most often working behind her sewing machine. Jane made clothes, quilts, baptismal stoles and teddy bears.
