Carl Maxwell Koina, 56, was caught drink-driving on the Bruce Highway at Maryborough, the day after he attended a 50th birthday party. Police intercepted Koina at 11.55am on February 21. He returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.054. Koina told police that he had attended a party the previous night at the Sunshine Coast and was driving home to Yeppoon when he was intercepted. The court heard Koina had no previous similar history in the past five years. Magistrate Jason Schubert fined Koina $350 and disqualified him from driving for one month. A restricted work licence was granted for Koina s employment as a builder.

The incident happened last month and last Thursday Glenn Robert Lavell, 38, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to a public nuisance offence. The court heard that Lavell knew he was banned from employment agency Community Solutions Yeppoon but despite that, he went to the business on March 5. He approached the doors to the business and yelled at staff. Police were called and on arrival they noticed that Lavell was intoxicated. The court heard that Lavell had numerous public nuisance offences on his history with the most recent being in 2009.

A Capricorn Coast mumâs drug offending was exposed when police found incriminating text messages on her mobile phone.
Skye Mcdiarmid, 39, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court last Thursday to possessing a mobile phone suspected of being used in a drug offence.
The court heard that on March 4, police stopped a vehicle that Mcdiarmid was a passenger in and conducted a search for drugs.
On Mcdiarmidâs mobile phone, officers found several messages that related to the supply of dangerous drugs.
Mcdiarmid, a mother and housekeeper, told Magistrate Jason Schubert that she had previously been âassociated with the wrong crowdâ and she had now âgot away from thatâ for the sake of her children.

Things didnât get off to a good start for Yeppoonâs Beau James Brook when he showed up two-and-a-half hoursâ late for his court matter on Thursday.
By the time the 22 year old arrived at Yeppoon Magistrates Court, the list of those appearing had almost finished and he was the last person to be dealt with.
Magistrate Jason Schubert was not impressed.
âWhat happened?â Mr Schubert asked Brook as he stood at the bar table in a courtroom that was empty in the public gallery with the exception of one media representative.
A casually dressed Brook replied: âI woke up late.â

A man has escaped having a conviction recorded after running in front of his estranged wifeâs car then chasing her in his own vehicle.
The Yeppoon Magistrates Court made a domestic violence order prohibiting the 33 year old from approaching or contacting the victim.
The offender cannot be named for legal reasons.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Shaun Janes told the court on April 15, that the offender ran up to his ex-wifeâs car while it was parked out the front of a school, and her children were extremely distressed and upset.
Sergeant Janes told the court the victim was driving up Panorama Drive when the offender approached her on the double lane section, wound down his window and yelled at her on March 1.
