Sammy Hagar & The Circle announced the release of their massively popular Lockdown Sessions as an album collection titled, “Lockdown 2020” on January 8, 2021.
The new single, a cover of Buffalo Springfield’s haunting and iconic “For What It’s Worth”, resonates with renewed clarity during these challenging times.
Sammy Hagar & The Circle’s “Lockdown Sessions” began in March, 2020 when the COVID-19 shelter-at-home order went into effect. Time on their hands and their upcoming tour in limbo, the band’s legendary drummer Jason Bonham challenged his bandmates Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Vic Johnson to record a warmup jam they’d been playing backstage before concerts for several years. Equipped with iPhones and their respective instruments, they each laid down their individual tracks from the den, music room, closet and even showers of their homes and the band’s Lockdown Sessions were born.
Sammy Hagar recently revealed concert dates for an upcoming Les Vegas residency the former Van Halen singer will perform over multiple nights this fall at the city s The Strat Showroom.
It goes down Oct. 29-30 and again on Nov. 5-6. Each pair of dates falls on a fittingly hedonistic Friday-Saturday combo, allowing the party-hardy musician, restauranteur and Cabo Wabo tequila founder to wow audiences with his current outfit, Sammy Hagar and the Circle, and perform songs from throughout his solo career in addition to his time with Van Halen, Chickenfoot, Montrose and his Wabos party band. I ve been searching the Las Vegas Strip trying to find the right room, ambience and partners to create a very special Cabo Wabo birthday-bash-type environment for my band members and musician friends to create the ultimate party residency, Hagar said in a statement on Monday (June 28).

Sammy Hagar‘s recently announced four-date Las Vegas residency taking place at The STRAT Theater on October 29-30 and November 5-6 is completely sold out, so the Red Rocker has lined up two additional shows at the venue, on November 12-13.
Tickets for the newly added concerts will go on sale to the general public this Saturday, July 3, at 10 a.m. PT via TheStrat.com. Members of Hagar’s fan club and The STRAT resort’s True Rewards program will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. PT.
Hagar also has confirmed that more Vegas shows will be scheduled soon in 2022.
If Hagar knows how to do one thing, it s show people a good time, he says. I want to create the ultimate environment where I can throw the ultimate party, like I have done in Cabo for 30 years for my birthday, but at another time of year in Las Vegas, which is really the party capital of the world, Hagar said. I hate to put Cabo second to anything, but I feel in this case it s gotta take second place to Las Vegas.
Hagar isn t new to doing business in Vegas. He s played countless shows in Sin City, including his various ventures in the restaurant and liquor industries. But he s also seen tons of Vegas shows, and now that the time for his residency has come, he says he knows how to make it a memorable experience.
