Duke took down Virginia in overtime on Thursday. Manhattan, Delaware and Georgetown all won in extra time. Mac O’Keefe is now the career goals leader in DI lacrosse. The Heels rolled the Orange out of the Carrier Dome. Saint Joe s, Delaware and Towson all won vital games.
I was able to watch Michigan at Penn State on Friday night. While it wasn’t the prettiest game you’ll ever see especially on the defensive side of the ball the compete level was high, as both teams let if fly. Mac O Keefe eclipsed the all-time career goal-scoring mark on a sidearm riser that pinged a corner and eventually bagged the golden goal in overtime. To see the Nittany Lions celebrate the win after a difficult campaign was a great reminder: keep battling. All victories, whether big or small, are significant.
Great fun last night. It was inspirational.
I’m still angry about the runner-on-2d rule for the tenth inning. The game Tuesday night was a travesty.

Tough to see the perfecto go to the wayside but a crisply pitched no-no.
That backstory, his comeback, then last night… how can you not be romantic about baseball?
It was a toe tapping good night. Almost a perfect night…. Mercedes does it again (you know because the game before the genius manager sat his hottest hitter against the best pitcher in baseball which makes a lot of sense, right?). That high fastball, sweeping slider, and that low inside change up that looked like it was dancing on the way to the plate was just too much for anyone. What a great game.

How’s the commute?
“I added 9 miles to my commute, but it’s all basically the Kennedy and the Ryan [expressways],” said Kasper, a Glencoe resident. “My trip to Wrigley was shorter, but once you get off on Irving Park or Addison, it can be tricky. So it’s been fine. I throw on an audio book or a podcast.”
